Welcome to our school blog, here you will find a snapshot of events taking place at Legh Vale on a weekly basis from Nursery to Y6.

Week Commencing: 16th October 2017

Y1RB enjoyed 'Bonfire Night' painting.

Year 1 had lots of fun at the Ugly Bug Ball.

RCM enjoyed reading the story about the 'Leaf Man'. They used the Autumn objects to make their very own Leaf Man.

Year 4 have designed and made their own chocolate pieces. YUMMY!

RBT enjoyed playing games to match their key words.

A HUGE congratulations to the Y4 Girls Football team who won the St Helens Primary Girls Football Tournament. Well done girls, you have made our school so very proud.

Y1RB had lots of fun at the Ugly Bug Ball.

Getting ready to start their new science topic after the half term, Y6H enjoyed labeling body parts on a real-life model

Y6M designed their own artwork using parallel and perpendicular lines.

Both KS1 and KS2 had a visit from Pop Project to promote healthy living through music.

Y5 enjoyed a trip to Langtree Park, where they learned how to stay safe with The Crucial Crew.

Y1RB enjoyed learning outdoors.

Y1/2 Made a human graph to show how they travel to school.

Week Commencing: 9th October 2017

Y4F enjoyed incorporating music into their English lesson by singing 'Pure Imagination' from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Y4D BRASS!

RCM enjoyed exploring the formation of different letters by using chalk and counters in the outdoor area.

Y3 boys really enjoyed taking part in a football tournament this week and...THEY WON! Well done boys!

To finish off our 'Local History' topic, Y6H researched the Wood Pit mining disaster. They wrote newspaper reports about the event from 1878.

Nursery were very excited as they went on a 'Teddy Bear Hunt'.

Y3 loved their trip to Liverpool. They made their teachers very proud.

As part of our history topic 'Local History', Y6M enjoyed using charcoal to draw coal miners, their mining tools and equipment.

As part of National Outdoor Day, Y5M took part in an alphabet treasure hunt in the school garden.

Y1/2 had fun using the 100 square on the playground as part of our Outdoor Classroom Day.

Y1JL enjoyed some outdoor learning and physical activity when they explored the school grounds.

RBT had lots of fun going outside to observe the transport which passed our school gates. 

Week Commencing: 2nd October 2017

This year's exciting Innovation & Conservation project was launched to the Year 6 children this week. We will be developing part of the nature reserve at Chester Zoo. Watch this space for more details over the next few weeks!

Y1RB have really enjoyed designing and creating superhero puppets in DT.

RBT enjoyed learning how to write numbers in Maths.

Y3 have been describing 'wormy spaghetti' ready to write instructions for their own 'wormy spaghetti' recipe.

This week Mrs Smith and 2 pupils attended a meeting at The Mayor’s Parlour, St. Helens Town Hall.

Year 6M have enjoyed creating a timeline of the events during the Wood Pit coal mining disaster.

Year 4 have been learning about fronted adverbials in their English lessons.

In English, Y5 have been using conjunctions to improve their sentences.

Year 5 enjoyed creating a jigsaw, to show where Islam was founded.

Y2 Looked at the human and physical features of the local area.
