Week Commencing: 30th April 2018
RBT enjoyed sharing ideas during their Literacy lesson.
An excellent effort from our Year 3 Reading Champions. Well done, we are so proud of how hard you are working on your reading.
Year 3 enjoyed starting their day with a ten minute run, even their teachers took part.
Year 4 have been coding Minecraft characters.
Y5H have been practising for Sports Day during their P.E lesson.
Year one took careful measurements to see who is winning the beanstalk race.
In Science, Y1RB went on a wild plant hunt to the school allotment.
Y1JL had fun looking at the work of LS Lowry-especially trying to decide what his subjects were doing/thinking.
Y2 have been working together to create a piece of art in the style of Lowry.
Week Commencing: 23rd April 2018
In Year 6, the children have been revising how to reflect and translate shapes. They used paint before folding their graphs along the x and y axis to see where the shape's new position would be.
In English, Year 3 have been studying King Arthur. They have had fun creating their own magical swords.
Year 6 enjoyed P.E. in the sun this week. We have started our Athletics unit, in preparation for Sports Day.
RBT enjoyed hunting for our missing multiples of 10!
Y1RB have really enjoyed planting beans and sunflowers this week.
Y1/2 SM have been inspired by Vincent Van Gogh.
Year 3 Reading Champions have worked incredibly hard this week. We are very proud of their effort. Well done!
Well done to Year 3 boys football team. They represented the school brilliantly whilst taking part in a football tournament.
Y4F have been learning about Plastic Pollution and the effect it's having on our planet. We have all made a promise to recycle plastic materials at home and to avoid the use of single plastic carrier bags and straws.
Y2 have designed their own mindfulness colouring books inspired by Van Gogh's sunflowers.
During science, Y5M have been learning about parts of a flower.
Y1JL have been learning all about plants this week. All the children have enjoyed planting seeds and planning an experiment.
Y5H have been dissecting flowers to look closely at the different parts.
Week Commencing: 16th April 2018
RBT worked really hard during their Literacy lesson. They planned their sentences independently, well done RBT!
Congratulations to the Year 3 Reading Champions. A brilliant effort!
RCM have enjoyed using our new Fairytale Theatre to act out some of their favourite stories.
Year 1 loved their school trip to Imagine that! They carried out lots of experiments and even made their own bath bombs and slime!
Y1/2 SM are really excited to watch how much hair their grass heads can grow... then the styling fun will begin!
Year 2 have been planting bulbs and seeds to observe how they grow over time.
Year 6 have worked hard on our new Legh Vale School values. They have drawn pictures and taken photographs to represent each value. This is our new display in the Year 6 corridor.
Congratulations to Toni and Gorge from Xativia British school who were awarded P.E certificates for their excellent fielding skills in rounders, showing that no matter what language you speak you can still be active.
Year 3 have made some amazing castles and crowns as part of their new topic.
Y1JL had 'the best day ever' on their trip to Imagine That. The day was action packed and full of fun activities including making their own slime and bath bombs!
Y5M have received their letters from their friends in Spain. They were all excited to read their replies.
