Week Commencing: 25th June 2018
RBT enjoyed using practical resources to add and subtract.
Y6 loved designing their very own Legh Vale Olympic Games after learning about the very first Olympic Games in Ancient Greece.
Year 4D voted for their World Cup football award winners. Well done!
We had a fantastic morning at De La Salle High School participating in the Y5/6 Netball Tournament. Both teams played extremely well. Congratulations to Legh Vale Maroon who won a nail biting final against Rainford C of E.
As part of our Science lessons this week, Y5M have had a great time making boats to test for water resistance.
Year 2 have drawn amazing self portraits inspired by the Mexican artist Freda Kahlo.
Y1RB have enjoyed playing football this week in PE.
Y1/2 enjoyed participating in a flight competition after designing and making their own planes. This linked to work on the history of flight.
Year 6 had a truly AMAZING weekend at PGL. They loved taking part in all of the activities and their behaviour was fantastic. They represented our school exceptionally well. What a wonderful weekend!
Y5M have been writing some fantastic footballer recipes this week.
Year 3 have been making the most of the warm weather taking their sketching outdoors.
Week Commencing: 18th June 2018
Year 3 have had a wonderful time learning all about Japan during World Cup week. They have created some wonderful work.
Y6 enjoyed trying Greek food!
Year 2 have watched in awe as their caterpillars transformed into butterflies.
Y1RB have enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the Legh Vale World cup café. They have really enjoyed all of our England themed activities this week.
Year 4 played well in their teams during our 'World Cup' tournament.
Year 4 have enjoyed playing cricket this afternoon.
Y1/2 enjoyed the sounds of Samba music as part of 'World Cup Week'.
Reception have loved watching their caterpillars change and grow into butterflies. On Friday afternoon they enjoyed setting them free and watching them fly away.
Year 2 had fun tasting the culinary delights of Mexico. Ole!
Y5M had great fun making Spanish Origami football shirts this week.
RBT have been learning all about Wassily Kandinsky in their study linked to Russia. They had lots of fun creating their own 'Concentric Circles' painting.
Y5 kicked off ‘World Cup Week’ with their own football tournament. The children worked in small groups representing different countries from around the world.
Nursery children were very excited to have 'hands on' experience when they met reptiles and an amphibian. To see more photographs see our gallery.
Y1JL have enjoyed learning about Paul Klee and have produced some great work.
Week Commencing: 11th June 2018
A huge congratulations to our wonderful Year 3 Reading Champions.
Year 3 are very excited for the World Cup. They've started some of their own football art.
Y1RB have been learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly. They have really enjoyed observing the caterpillars this week.
Y4F enjoyed spending time with our pet stick insects, we observed their behaviour and even had a stick race!
Y2 Singing and Drama Club have had a great week doing their performance of 'Jungle Book'. They were all superstars!
Y5H had a fantastic afternoon, creating parachutes to test air resistance.
Y6 enjoyed learning about different careers for the future in our Careers Carousel.
RCM have enjoyed learning about different insects this week. They loved going to our nature area to see if they could find any!
Y5 and Y6 pupils have had a great day playing Touch Rugby at The Whittle Cup. They loved meeting all the Saints players.
1JL have been very excited watching their caterpillars grow and form their chrysalis. They are now looking forward to the transformation to butterflies.
Y6 enjoyed learning about refraction in Science. They completed an investigation to see how light travels through water.
Nursery children enjoyed the visit by Acorn Farm Animals. Look in the gallery to see more photographs.
Y1/2 looked closely at insects in their natural habitat.
RBT went on a minibeast hunt. They loved hunting for different types of minibeasts.
Week Commencing: 4th June 2018
May the force be with you! Y5M made their own parachutes to test air resistance.
RBT have been investigating capacity this week.
Year 4 took part in a drama technique known as 'Conscience Alley'. We stepped into the mind of a character and tried to feel what emotions they would have experienced during different points in their lives.

Year 2 have observed and recorded the growth of a variety of seeds and bulbs in Science.
RCM had a special delivery of 3 baby caterpillars. We are very excited to see how they grow and change.
Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed some outdoor learning in the sunshine.
Nursery children enjoyed having their faces painted.
Nursery children replanted our beans to give them more room to grow.
